AMC school teacher booked for sexually harassing 11-year-old girl

Ahmedabad, Feb 01, 2020: Ashwin Punjabhai Patel, a teacher with a school run by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation in Vadaj area has been booked for sexually harassing a 11-year-old girl.
The girl’s mother has filed a complaint with Vadaj Police against Patel accusing him of sexually harassing her daughter.
The teacher also allegedly threatened the girl, telling her he would kill her parents if she spoke about the incident to anyone.
Due to the class teacher’s behaviour in the past, the girl’s mother had previously informed the school’s authorities but to no avail. The girl’s mother finally filed a complaint with the police after the girl told her mother that the teacher bit her on the cheek and sexually harassed her.
According to police sources, the mother of the victim is an SMC member at municipal school number 3. The woman in her complaint said in the past Ashwin would often play with her daughter.
However, she says she did not feel right about Patel’s intentions and filed a complaint.
The girl also narrated incidents about her teacher to her mother. The girl’s mother has taken her daughter out of the school.
