Gandhinagar, Sept 8, 2018. The Gujarat Government on Saturday (September 8) said its doors were open for talks to discuss the demands raised by fasting Patidar leader Hardik Patel. On the other hand the Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) also showed its readiness to talk to the Gujarat Government. Both these developments come in the wake of Hardik getting hospitalised as his health deteriorated precariously. “The doors of Gujarat Government are open for talks,” Gujarat Energy Minister Saurabh Patel said while talking to media persons. “We have already held discussions about Hardik's demands with six top Patidar organisations, and our doors are open for anyone to discuss the issue further,” Patel said. Reacting to a statement made by Naresh Patel, President of the Khodaldham Trust about how the trust and other Patidar bodies would place Hardik’s demands at Gandhinagar, Patel further added, "We were ready for talks. We met six Patidar organisations, who came on their own because of concern for Hardik's health, but unfortunately, they were insulted by Hardik and PAAS. If the community leaders come, our doors are open, and we will listen to them." Referring to the absence of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani as he was travelling, Patel said other ministers were very much available in Gandhinagar for conducting talks with Patidars. The Energy Minister also once again reminded the Congress to clarify its stand on the issue of reservation to Patidars. Following Patel’s statement, Hardik's close aide and PAAS leader Manoj Panara said their delegation was ready for talks if the Gujarat Government invited them.
