Rajpipla police book 34 for gathering to offer ‘Zuhr’ namaaz

Rajpipla, March 30, 2020:

As many as 34 men were booked by the police in Rajpipla, the district headquarters of Narmada district in central-south Gujarat on Sunday (March 29). The men were booked for assembling at a local madrasa (educational institution) to offer ‘Zuhr’ (afternoon) namaaz.

All the 34 had assembled at the madrasa situated near the Rajpipla market at 2pm. The assembly was spotted in the drone used by police to catch those violating prohibitory orders.

Prohibitory orders are in place and people have been asked not to gather at one spot because of the outbreak of Covid-19 and the subsequent lockdown announced on March 24.

Rajpipla police said they will start arresting them in groups of three.
