PAASC national convener alleges threat from PAAS

AHMEDABAD: Ashwin Shankdasheriya, the national convener of the Patidar Anamat Aarakshan Sangharsh Committee, has submitted an application to the Ahmedabad police commissioner, seeking round-the-clock protection during his tours in Gujarat. Shankdasheriya is a resident of New Delhi's Karol Bagh.
In his application, Shankdasheriya has alleged that PAAS convener Hardik Patel and his associates hold him responsible for making Hardik's 'sex tapes' viral. "I have been getting threatening and abusive calls from across Gujarat," Shankdasheriya said. "I have lodged a complaint with Karol Bagh police station in New Delhi and have been provided with round-the-clock security by Delhi Police," according to a TNN report.
In his application submitted to the Ahmedabad police commissioner, Shankdasheriya has said that he has been on a Gujarat tour since November 21. He said that while he going home with his friend on November 23, the autorickshaw in which he was travelling was intercepted by a car near Thakkernagar.
"A few persons got down from the car. They appeared to be Hardik supporters. They threatened me with dire consequences," Shankdasheriya said. "They snatched my phone and switching on the camera, asked me to give a statement that the alleged sex videos were made by me at the instance of the BJP. I told them that I was not responsible for making the videos viral on social media and did not give any statement." Shankdasheriya said he has also lodged a complaint with the cyber cell of Delhi Police against the people who are posting defamatory and abusive material against him on social media.
Top Ahmedabad police sources confirmed that they have received Shankdasheriya's application and are probing the details mentioned in the application. After a threat assessment, a decision will be taken on providing him security.
