Mansukh Mandaviya to unfurl the national tri-colour at Khardung La

Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highway, Shipping, Chemicals and Fertilisers Mansukh Mandaviya will unfurl the national tri-colour at the Khardung La Pass in Ladakh on the occasion of India’s 71st Independence Day on August 15.
Mandaviya will unfurl the national tri-colour at 9:15pm at a height of 17,852 feet at Khardung La Pass. This is the highest motorable in the world. Mandaviya will then address the invited guests and citizens. Mandaviya is on a three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir from January 13 to 16, 2017.
About 45 girls from Surat who have taken out a bike rally from Surat to Leh under the Tiranga Yatra will also remain present. After the unfurling of the national flag, Mandaviya will also take part in the Tiranga Yatra from Leh Gate to Choglamasar Chowk, Sagar Khimani the minister’s media coordinator said.
