Vadodara: Movement of eight trains towards Vadodara, Ahmedabad and Delhi got disrupted on Friday morning as an overhead equipment (OHE) wire broke down between Kim and Kosamba railway stations at 3.12 am on down line. It was only at 9.40 am that the rail traffic movement got regularised and after much delay trains that had halted between Surat and Kim railway stations started moving on the down line.
The trains which got halted because of the incident include Bandra Terminus- Udaipur Superfast Express, Ernakulam- Okha Express, Avadh Express, Pune- Ahmedabad Express, Jodhpur Express, Mumbai- Indore AC Duronto Express, Mumbai - Ahmedabad Duronto Express and Mumbai -Ahmedabad Gujarat Mail, a TNN report said.
"A power wagon was dispatched from Vadodara railway station to restore the OHE and regularise train movement. As soon as the down line was restored, trains started their onward journey from the destinations that they were kept," said a railway official.
The incident however disrupted plans of several passengers, many of them office-goers or those who had to board trains to other destinations."I had to reach Ahmedabad for an assignment given to me by my firm but the train remained stranded between Surat and Kim for nearly three hours.
“We had no information on how long the work would continue and what actually had went wrong on the line," said Ashish Patel, an employee working with a private IT firm.
