ACB nabs Sabarkantha medical officer accepting bribe

Ahmedabad, Feb 1, 2020: Hasmukhlal Mohanlal Chauhan, a medical officer at the Kotada village in northeast Gujarat’s Sabarkantha district was nabbed red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while he was accepting a bribe from a multipurpose health worker working at the primary health centre of Kotada village.
The health worker had a filed a complaint with the ACB, accusing Chauhan demanding a bribe from him.
The complainant alleged that Chauhan first called him (the complainant) incompetent in his work and later demanded a bribe of Rs5000 to keep his name from getting reported to the district malaria office. The complainant filed a case with the ACB police station at Himmatnagar, and later worked with the ACB to get Chauhan nabbed red handed while accepting the bribe.
Police inspector VN Chaudhary set the trap and Chauhan was caught red-handed accepting the money from the complainant. Police have filed the case and started a probe.
